JEANNIE CLARK
Drawing and painting with colour is a primary concern of mine; and I draw inspiration from everyday encounters. Ongoing themes are journeys, woodland views, trees, and landscapes, interiors, clothes, carnival and theatrical events. I paint in oils on canvas, gouache on paper, acrylic on paper and canvas and editions of collagraphs combined with mono prints and linocut prints. Observed sketches inform all aspects of my work, these are then adapted by my imagination, accidental events and marks, and the occasional photograph. In August 2014, I took the opportunity to paint in my son’s Buckinghamshire apple orchard. I enjoyed the experience being connected directly to nature, the changing sky, and the smell apples and summer. So I invite you to look at my website and be part of my creative journey. As my work and visual stories develop I intend to upload photographs of my work in progress. So join me, and explore my visual stories. May be we can chat or just say hello if we pass on the Sherwood high street.
